We feel that a thorough design is incomplete without numerical modelling as we recognise the value it provides to gain a better understanding of the geotechnical problem at hand. We see it as a valuable design tool to efficiently develop design options, run parametric studies, model complex forms of ground/structure interaction problems and optimise designs.
To verify the numerical analysis results, our team adopts several other analysis techniques such as empirical analysis based on established rock mass classification systems to verify rock support, convergence confinement analyses, and analytical analysis to assess toe stability and strutting forces. We ensure that the modelling results are calibrated with the real performance of similar structures in similar geological ground conditions.
